Greek coastline at golden hour

Our Story

Born from tradition, crafted with passion.

The Memory

A Taste of Childhood

"It was like bartering. Many years ago, in my small village, I watched a beautiful tradition unfold each day. The women would gather, bringing milk from their few goats—one, two, maybe three—to one woman's house. They measured carefully with glasses, keeping account, knowing each would have their turn."

This way, there was enough milk to make halloumi. Each day, a different woman would receive the cheese. We children played nearby, pretending to make our own halloumi with water, waiting eagerly for that moment—the fresh cheese and anari, still warm, with a taste and flavor impossible to forget.

That memory, those flavors, that sense of community and tradition—this is what Grillaki recreates. A taste of childhood, a connection to our roots, crafted in Larissa with the same love and care I remember from those unforgettable days.

The Craft

Artisanal Methods,
Pure Ingredients

At Grillaki, we believe that great cheese starts with great milk. We partner with local Greek farmers who raise their herds with care and respect for nature. This high-quality milk is the foundation of our flavor.

Our cheese makers follow time-honored techniques, hand-turning the curds and seasoning them with just a hint of mint—a nod to tradition that adds a fresh, aromatic note. Every block of Grillaki is a testament to patience and skill, ensuring that perfect "squeak" and golden crust every time you grill it.

More Than Just Cheese

In Greece, food is never just about sustenance—it's about connection. It's about gathering around a table with family and friends, sharing stories, and making memories.

Grillaki was created for these moments. Whether it's a summer barbecue, a quick family dinner, or a festive mezze platter, our cheese is meant to be shared. It's the warm, savory center of the table that brings people together.
